My Story

Hello fellow vet med peeps!  I'm Jody Nugent-Deal.  I have a passion for life long learning and want to share my love for anesthesia and pain management in dogs, cats, and companion exotic animals.  Who am I?  I have worked in veterinary medicine since 1994, have been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 1998, started working at the UC Davis VMTH in 1999, earned my VTS in Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2009, and then my VTS in Clinical Practice Exotic Companion Animal in 2012.  Since 2000, I have provided continuing education lectures in clinical practice, online, and at national veterinary conventions throughout North America.  Many people are only taught how to do a task, but my goal is to teach others about the "who, what, when, where, and why" and not just the "how" of veterinary anesthesia and analgesia.
